Who We Are

Genesis enables UT Austin student innovators and leaders to reach their greatest potential by providing them with mentorship, startup capital, and real-world investment experience. We have raised over $1.8M to achieve this mission and are growing our team in order to multiply our impact on the UT entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Your Team - Deal Sourcing

Find the next Michael Dell, Sara Blakely, or Emily Weiss. Members of the Deal Sourcing team identify and engage Longhorn leaders and innovators on every corner of campus. You will get exposure to boots on the ground marketing by attending entrepreneurial events across campus and Austin, meeting new people in degree programs across the university. Additionally, you’ll be able to help companies at the earliest stages refine their pitches and achieve key milestones.

Genesis is structured to take advantage of the 80/20 rule, whereby 20% of each team member’s time is spent outside of their assigned project area on initiatives that both are both high impact and of personal interest to the team member. In other words, you’ll also have 20% of your time to explore new projects within Genesis.

If you enjoy talking to people about their interesting projects and seeking out innovators on campus, this role is perfect for you.
