Analyst - Due Diligence
Any Major, Any Year

Who We Are
Genesis enables UT Austin student innovators and leaders to reach their greatest potential by providing them with mentorship, startup capital, and real-world investment experience. We have raised over $1.8M to achieve this mission and are growing our team in order to multiply our impact on the UT entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Your Team - Due Diligence
Due Diligence is directly responsible for evaluating the market potential for companies in the Genesis deal pipeline. Venture Partners and Analysts interview founders interested in receiving Genesis capital and conduct secondary research on products, markets, and financial and legal structures of companies. This position would be the ideal role for those seeking a career in venture capital or research, as well as those interested in learning more about deal analysis and due diligence report construction.
Genesis is structured to take advantage of the 80/20 rule, whereby 20% of each team member’s time is spent outside of their assigned project area on initiatives that both are both high impact and of personal interest to the team member. In other words, you’ll also have 20% of your time to explore new projects within Genesis.

Your Role - Analyst
Due Diligence analysts collaborate with the due diligence leads and venture partners to assess and evaluate the potential impact of distributing capital to student founding teams. Analysts learn the skills involved in conducting industry and product research, assessing the commercial potential of a startup, and writing due diligence reports to advance the goal of identifying companies and founders with strong visions and steadfast determination. Strong performance in the role can lead to direct advancement to venture partner. This role is perfect for those aspiring to a career in an analytical field of work.
